Student project: Machine Learning
Suitable For
M.Sc. Conversion (Research Project)
M.Sc. Global
4th year final project
3d year final project
Number of People
1-3
Synopsis
The Machine Learning group investigates various forms of learning from data.
One of the projects involves induction of integrity constraints, i.e. anything
other than classification rules. An operational system called PRIMUS has been
implemented. The next step is to apply and evaluate the system on selected
data-sets. This involves data acquisition and preparation, comparisons with other
systems, suggesting improvements, etc.
Objectives
Evaluation of the PRIMUS system on real-world and benchmark data.
Deliverables
To be specified.
Skills Required
a general understanding of artificial intelligence and machine learning.
Tools/Environments
Unix, C, Prolog, possibly Java
Benefit to Student
- To take part in some genuine and valuable artificial intelligence research;
- To become thoroughly familiar with the state of the art in a very promising area of computer science.
